Frequantly Asked Questions
What kind of objects does Les Objets Amsterdam source?
Les Objets Amsterdam sources a curated selection of vintage and contemporary design objects, including sculptures, candle holders, vases, lighting, tableware, bowls and magazine racks. We are particularly drawn to distinctive forms connected to Art Deco, Modernism, Art Nouveau, Memphis and postmodern design. Every object is selected for its form, material and individual character.
Are all vintage objects one of a kind?
Not always. Some vintage objects were originally produced in a series by a known designer or brand, so another example may occasionally be found. However, these pieces are often rare and may differ in age, patina and condition. Other objects were handmade, produced in very small quantities or created by unknown makers, making them unique or exceptionally difficult to find.
Where does Les Objets source its vintage pieces?
We source vintage objects throughout Europe, visiting brocantes, vintage shops and independent dealers, as well as searching through selected online platforms. Every piece is sourced and selected individually by Les Objets Amsterdam.
Does Les Objets ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping costs and delivery options depend on the destination and the size, weight and fragility of the object. For particularly large or delicate pieces, please contact us for a tailored shipping quote.
Can interior designers source objects through Les Objets?
Yes. We work with interior designers, stylists and other creative professionals looking for distinctive objects for residential and commercial projects. We can assist with individual pieces, a curated selection or more extensive sourcing. Please contact us with information about your project, preferred style, budget and timeline.
Do you offer sourcing on request?
Yes. We offer sourcing on request for specific objects, periods, materials, colours, styles or dimensions. You can send us a brief, reference images, budget and preferred timeline. As every vintage piece depends on availability, we cannot guarantee an exact match, but we can search for a suitable or closely related object.
How do you determine the period or provenance of a vintage object?
We assess an object through its shape, style, materials, construction, maker’s marks, labels and signs of age. Whenever possible, we also use information provided by the previous owner, designer or manufacturer. When an exact maker, date or provenance cannot be verified, we clearly describe the information as an informed estimate rather than a confirmed fact.
What condition are the vintage objects in?
Vintage objects may show traces of age and previous use, which form part of their history and character. We photograph the pieces carefully and mention notable signs of wear, restoration or damage in the product description. Additional photographs or condition details are available upon request.
What happens when a vintage piece is sold?
Many of our vintage objects are rare or available only once. Once a piece is sold, the exact object is usually no longer available. You are always welcome to contact us about sourcing a similar piece, although an identical example cannot be guaranteed.
Can I visit Les Objets Amsterdam?
